Possible side effects and reactions
Olotop Eye Drop (containing Olopatadine Hydrochloride) is a prescription ophthalmic solution used to treat allergic conjunctivitis, but it may occasionally cause minor side effects:
Ocular irritation: Mild burning, stinging, dryness, or a foreign body sensation in the eyes immediately after instillation.
Mild systemic or localized effects: Temporary blurred vision right after applying the drops, mild headache, or a bitter taste in the mouth.
Severe allergic reaction: Intense itching, widespread rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing.
Serious or emergent adverse effects: Severe eye pain, worsening redness, increased sensitivity to light (photophobia), sudden vision changes, or signs of a secondary eye infection (such as pus or thick discharge).
Important precautions and warnings
Contact Lenses Warning: Olotop drops often contain benzalkonium chloride or other preservatives that can be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before instilling the drops and wait at least 10 to 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in.
Temporary Blurring: Your vision may blur briefly immediately after instilling the drops. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision clears entirely.
Multiple Eye Medications: If you are using other eye drops or ointments, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between applying Olotop and administering any other ophthalmic products.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before using Olotop if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
