How To Use

Proper usage instructions for best results

Primary Medical Uses:
* Blood Glucose Sampling: Designed as sterile, single-use needle devices to obtain a small, precise drop of capillary blood from the fingertip (or alternative sites) for routine blood glucose monitoring.

* Comfortable & Minimized Puncture Pain: Coated with medical-grade silicone and engineered with a fine tip to glide smoothly into the skin, significantly reducing friction and minimizing discomfort during frequent daily testing.

Guidelines for Use:
* Preparation & Loading: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Remove the protective cap from the lancet by twisting it, and insert the lancet securely into a compatible lancing device (such as the Microlet 2 or Microlet Next device).

* Depth Adjustment & Administration: Adjust the lancing device to your preferred penetration depth setting. Place the device firmly against the side of your fingertip and press the release button to puncture the skin.

* Sampling & Disposal: Gently massage or squeeze your finger to obtain a small drop of blood for your test strip. Immediately remove the used lancet and safely dispose of it in a designated sharps container.

* Precautions: For single-use only. Never reuse or share lancets, as reusing dulls the needle and increases the risk of infection or cross-contamination. Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

Possible side effects and reactions

Microlet Colored Lancets are sterile, single-use medical accessories designed for blood glucose monitoring. Because they are single-use skin-puncturing needles, improper handling or reuse can lead to specific mechanical and hygiene-related concerns:

Common/Minor Issues :
  1. Mild local discomfort or soreness: Brief stinging or tenderness at the puncture site, particularly if the lancing depth is set too deep.

  2. Minor bruising or bleeding: Occasional light bruising or a small spot of bleeding at the fingertip or alternate testing site.

When to Stop Use & Seek Medical Attention :
  1. Signs of local skin infection: Increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pus formation, or persistent throbbing pain around the puncture site.

  2. Accidental injury or contamination: If the protective cap was removed prior to use, or if the needle becomes contaminated, discard it immediately to prevent introducing pathogens into the skin. (Note: Always discard used lancets immediately into a designated sharps container and never reuse them to avoid cross-contamination and dulling of the needle.)

Precautions

Important precautions and warnings

Important Precautions & Safety Measures
  • Strictly Single-Use: Never reuse lancets. Reusing a lancet dulls the needle tip, increases pain, causes tissue damage, and significantly raises the risk of bacterial infection.

  • Proper Sharps Disposal: Dispose of used lancets in a puncture-resistant medical sharps container rather than loose household trash to protect family members and sanitation workers.

  • Do Not Share: Never share your lancets or lancing device with anyone else, even family members, to prevent the transmission of blood-borne pathogens.

  • Check Sterility Seal: Do not use the lancet if the protective cap is missing or damaged prior to first use.
