Gaviscon Oral Suspension

Dosage & Administration: Use as directed by a healthcare professional or product instructions. Typically taken orally as one to two measuring spoonfuls (approx. 10 to 20 mL) after meals and at bedtime (or as needed for symptom relief). Shake the bottle well before each use. Do not dilute or take with large amounts of liquid immediately after swallowing to allow the protective barrier to form properly.

Active Ingredient & Medical Guidance: This product is an over-the-counter anti-reflux medication containing Sodium Alginate, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Calcium Carbonate. It works via a unique dual-action mechanism: when it contacts stomach acid, the sodium alginate forms a protective physical "raft" or barrier that floats on top of the stomach contents, preventing acid reflux into the esophagus, while the carbonates neutralize excess gastric acid to relieve heartburn and indigestion. Ensure ongoing medical supervision if symptoms persist for more than 7 days.

Usage Supervision & Safety: For oral use. Because this suspension contains sodium and calcium, use with caution if you are on a strictly controlled sodium-restricted diet, have severe kidney impairment, or suffer from hypercalcemia. Antacids and alginates can interfere with the absorption of other oral medications (such as certain iron supplements or antibiotics); maintain a time gap of at least 2 hours between taking Gaviscon and other drugs. Consult a healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding. Keep strictly out of reach of children and pets.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat (at a temperature not exceeding 30°C; do not freeze, as freezing destroys the physical properties of the suspension). Keep the bottle cap tightly closed after every use, and discard any remaining suspension past the expiration date.
